Maine's Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program (Assist Set Me)

TheHelp Prepare ME program (HFM) distributes applications to qualified individuals who tin't afford to spay their dogs or cats. You may be able to participate in the HFM program if you lot receive or are eligible for one of the following programs:

  • Food Stamps
  • Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Social Security Inability (SSDI)

Love Animal Welfare Stakeholders,

The tremendous response to the section's Assist Fix Me (HFM) vouchers and the contempo update to the reimbursement charge per unit have led to demand for HFM vouchers to nearly outpace available funding. As a result, and as of April 13, 2022, we are temporarily pausing the HFM program until funding is available to sufficiently cover voucher need. Please follow this link to learn more than (PDF).

To report an animal cruelty or neglect complaint during business hours 8 am to 4:xxx pm, Monday through Friday:

Complaints received via email must incorporate the reporting political party's proper name and telephone number; the name of the animal owner, (if known), a physical address, a clarification of the animals and the blazon of complaint.
